Hello Edm 310! My name is Christopher Reese born and raised in Biloxi, Ms Now residing here in Mobile. My major is Health & Physical Education because my passion for mentoring, health and sports. I transferred from Alcorn State University to here because of the great education program and the distance from Biloxi. I feel Mobile is perfect distance from family and friends, not too far and not to close. I’m defiantly proud to be a Jag!
My ultimate dream is to teach and run a series of summer mentoring programs. I am fortunate enough to have great parents who encourage me during my childhood. Seeing so many single mother and boys without a positive male role model saddens me, especially in the black community. It burdens me so much that I switch my major from nutrition to education. One of my greatest influences to do so what my father who is currently a high school teacher and coach for many sports. Beside school and work I also D.J for local Christian events and currently working on a C.D featuring a mix of local talent and on the rise Christian artists.

Tui's Swimming Thoughts
Pt. England School had very talented students. I read a blog by a student name Tui’s. Tuis’ story was entitled Swimming Thoughts. It was a very good story and I love the way she describe everything from start to finish.
C4k4
I was assigned a student name Martin. His blogs remind me of the same mindset I had at his age. From the way he tells stories and even his position on a lot of topics. It obvious he is a smart kid that will be very successful.

Great Blog! I am current thinking about getting a dog and I love German Sheppard’s. It just so happen the student Dr.Strange assign me had German Sheppard’s and did a blog about them. This blog post was very informative in my decision making.
C4C Assignment #11
Just like Miss Rascoe I was also amazed those children that young can do stuff I can’t even do yet and Ms. Cassidy also inspired as well. She defiantly makes the learning experience entertaining while staying effective. Overall she had a great blog post and blog.
C4C Assignment #10
Great Post! Especially the section on "The Open Letter To Educators". Trust me you are not alone. There are plenty of students nationwide that feel the same. I also loved the example use in "Don’t take the pencil home". A lot of teachers do focus on the negative and they fail to see the big picture. Great Post!

I comment on Mister Lee “What I learned from swimming class”. He compared the school system to how the swimming instructor taught the kids how to swim. He pointed out the fact that there was not an age barrier also that the course did not have a grade but just pass or fail. I believe he was basically saying if we can do it in other learning experience why not in the public school system.

The Medium Shapes The Learning
This post tackling a lot of topics but overall I believe he is telling us to keep of students engaged by using technology in our classroom. When I say that I do not mean solely depend of technology but use it in a way that will remold learning in a way to make knowledge fun and attainable. We as teacher must know everyone have the capability to learn and utilize our tool fully.
He Just Likes The Class For The Pencils
In “He Just Likes The Class For The Pencils” Mr. Spencer address the up most importance of a healthy student teacher relationship. He talk about how it is possible to he runs his classroom (which gave me some good insight). Mr.Spencer enlighten on the balance of rules there must be in the classroom. This post offered great example on a student loving his class because he could really fully understand his teacher.
Sketchy Portraits
.
I absolutely love this post! The way Mr. Spencer use a pencil as a metaphor for middle school students was great! The example he use is what I see every time I visit a school, the teacher getting extremely frustrated just because the student is honestly replying with his/her feelings. It seem like when student reply with a smart answer teachers take it offensive when they should try reading the student emotions and reply with a answer to help or encourage him/her.
Just Teach Them To Solve For X
Solving for X was the one I choose to comment on. I never thought of using metaphors to teach math. It defiantly could work because you could use a metaphor that the student already have interest in. This also will help the student learn about the whole problem instead of being so focus on solving “X

My Create Assignment
Religion in Classrooms?
Watch the entire video of below. Write two or more paragraphs about your reaction to the video. Be sure to discuss your personal views or Religion in the classroom. Answer the question posted in the second video “Do you think schools would benefit from a World Religion course?”
Being a man with strong Christian beliefs and a future educator this subject is dear to me. Naturally Christian morals and values will show in my teacher and the ways I deal with the children. I feel qualities like honesty, hard work, encourage in my speech and love my neighbor like I love myself will do nothing but benefit my students. But, like he stated in the video it’s not just about Christianity but for all religions.
I do believe there should be a world religion course in the college education system because of various reasons. One reason is so we can learn more about other cultures. Being a teacher at a public school one would surely encounter many kids with different religions. A big part of being a teacher is being able to relate to the students and the classroom a good learning environment. By us knowing about the child religion we will further understand each individual student. Each religion has specific ceremonies a different times and to the teacher advantage if we know about them.
